The existing City Hotel in the centre of Ljubljana has not been refreshed for really long time. In 2007 they renovated a part of it but all in all (with different design approaches) it still lacks its own identity. The goal of the competition was to present ideas for renovating the main hall, the hotel restaurant and some of the rooms. The main intention was to connect different programmes on different floors with the same design approach that would give the hotel its own unique identity. Bright spaces with natural materials are connected on all levels with the greenery that becomes the main topic of new design proposal.
